About Robert H. Paine

Robert received a B.A. with honors from the University of the South (Sewanee).  He received a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Mississippi School of Law.  He received an LL.M. in Tax Law from Georgetown University Law Center where he served on the Graduate Tax Council.  In law school, he received the Outstanding Student Award in Estate Planning, and he has published an article entitled, "The Tax Treatment of International Philanthropy and Public Policy," 19 Akron Tax J. 1. 

He has experience in government, in private practice, and in a corporate setting.  He clerked for the United States Department of Justice in Washinton, DC, where he worked in the fields of national security and immigration law.  Subsequently, he clerked for the University Attorney's office at the University of Mississippi and for the National Center for Justice and the Rule of Law, also at the University of Mississippi.  After serving as a contract attorney with the general counsel's office of Verizon Communications, Inc., he launched a law practice in Jackson, Mississippi, and Oxford, Mississippi.
